To keep things fair, scores are adjusted for age and weighted. English and Maths scores are doubled, then added together to form the Reasoning score, for a total out of 700. Usually, only the top 25% of local students pass, and the qualifying score is typically between 482 and 492.
Registration for the Medway Test closed on Friday, 12 June 2026. Children at Medway state primary schools take the exam at their own school in mid-September. Official results come out on Wednesday, 14 October 2026. Parents then have just over two weeks to choose schools on the Common Application Form before the 31 October 2026 deadline.
